Unwinding after a long day or sprucing yourself up on the weekend to feel good is always a good idea. When it comes to skincare and pampering I like keeping things simple. If you buy the right products you’ll find them lasting longer and joining the cult favourites sitting comfortably on your bathroom shelf. Here are my current four pamper products on rotation when I want to give my skin a little extra love.
Aesop clay masque’s have always been a favourite of mine – the Parsley Seed a cult classic. The Primrose Facial Cleansing Masque works in the same way but focuses on clarifying the skin with a boost of Vitamin E. To use you apply a thin coat all over your face and neck, or just problem areas you want to focus on, avoiding the eye area. Leave on for up to 15 minutes then remove using a hot–soaked face cloth. You want to give your face a thorough wash to make sure there isn’t any residue. It has a very antiseptic scent (which is extremely soothing) that works its magic into the skin.
Aesop‘s Blue Chamomile Facial Hydrating Masque is a new one for me. It’s easy to use, just put one to two pumps all over your face and neck and leave to soak in for up to 30 minutes. It’s designed to be washed over with warm water or wiped away using a warm–soaked face cloth. It has a pleasant smell, is very lightweight and leaves the skin feeling plump and clean. What’s not to love?
Until I came across Origins Overnight Mask I never thought it was an option to apply a mask and leave it on your skin overnight. This is my first of the two ‘final step’ options I use after washing off the Aesop masque’s. It’s soothing and refreshing on the skin and only requires a small amount: a little goes a long way. If you come home after a long night out and can’t be bothered with the ‘usual routine’ but, still want your skin feeling good, this is the mask for you.
Essano Certified Organic Rosehip Oil – $34.99
Essano‘s Rosehip Oil is one I always come back to no matter what comes my way. I use it as a final step after I have applied and washed off the Aesop masque. It’s also an alternative option to the Origins Overnight Mask. It’s a simple, hydrating oil that requires one drop warmed in your hands and rubbed all over the face and neck. Rich in Vitamin E and antioxidants, it’s super helpful with smoothing out uneven skin tone and nourishing dry, dehydrated skin.
